Man City sweep EPL awards

Man City’s Ruben Dias has been named the Premier League’s player of the season.

The Portuguese central defender adds this to the Football Writers Association’s footballer of the year prize that he also won last month.

Meanwhile, Man City’s Pep Guardiola was named the Premier League’s manager of the season for the third time in four years.

Borussia Dortmund are demanding 81.5 million pounds from Man United, for winger Jadon Sancho.

This is significantly less than the 108 million pounds price tag the German club placed on the player last season.

Nevertheless, if the deal goes thru…it will be a club-record transfer for United, beating the 80 million that they paid for Harry Maguire two years ago.

Kevin DeBruyne is expected to join up with the Belgium squad tomorrow, after undergoing minor surgery on the facial injury he picked up in the Champions League final.

It is still uncertain if he can recover in time for his team’s Euro 2020 opener against Russia next weekend.

Jamaican sprinter Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce is now the second-fastest woman in history.

The 34-year-old double Olympic champion posted a 100m time of 10.63 seconds at a national trials warmup event in Kingston.

This is the fourth-best women’s time ever, behind the 10.49, 10.61 and 10.62 marks posted by the late Florence Griffith-Joyner.
