National women’s doubles shuttlers Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah have reached the top of the World Tour Finals rankings for the first time! 

They’re ahead of a pair from China, separated by just over a thousand points. 

Pearly and Thinaah will be hoping to widen that gap, when they take part in next week’s Kumamoto Badminton Masters in Japan.

Meanwhile, national mixed doubles pair Jimmy Wong-Lai Pei Jing have advanced to the quarterfinals of the Korea Badminton Masters, after defeating their Taiwanese opponents in straights sets.

FIFA has created a new annual award called the FIFA Peace Prize, to be awarded for the first time during the 2026 World Cup draw in Washington.  

Rumour has it that the inaugural award could go to US President Donald Trump, who’s expected to be at the draw.

The Johor Regent says he will bear all the costs, for FAM to bring the case of 7 national heritage players to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

This, after FIFA rejected FAM’s appeal over the suspension of those heritage players.

FAM has since said it will request more details from FIFA, to proceed with their case to the Court of Arbitration for Sport
