Man City Inflict More Misery On Real Madrid

Xabi Alonso is facing even more calls to step down as Real Madrid boss, after his side gave up a lead to fall to a 2-1 defeat to Man City in the Champions League this morning.

The result means the Spanish club have now failed to win six of their last eight matches across all competitions.

In other selected Champions League results… Arsenal overcame Brugge 3-0 to all but secure their place in the next round.

Benfica defeated Napoli 2-0. 

Holders PSG were held to a goalless draw by Athletic Bilbao. 

While Bayer Leverkusen and Newcastle played out a 2-2 draw.

Selangor have ended their AFC Champions League Two campaign without a single win, after falling to a 1-0 defeat to Singapore’s Lion City Sailors in their final group game.

The Malaysian contingent has recorded a 13-medal haul at the SEA Games yesterday.

Two of these were gold – which came via taekwondo and the men’s five-a-side hockey team.

Our men’s badminton team, however, had to settle for silver, after losing to Indonesia in the final.

Our athletes also picked up one other silver and nine bronze medals – to sit joint sixth in the standings alongside the Philippines.

Meanwhile, Malaysians will be in action today in football, athletics, sepaktakraw, swimming, taekwondo, karate, badminton and volleyball.
