Liverpool Ready To Make Xabi Bid

Mar 13, 2024

liverpool ready to make xabi bid

Liverpool are ready to make a formal bid for Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso.

This is after the Reds confirmed the return of former Sporting Director Michael Edwards as their new CEO of Football.

He's been tasked with overseeing the club once Jurgen Klopp leaves.

This includes finding Klopp's replacement.

Edwards had previously played a key role bringing players like Mo Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Sadio Mane to Anfield.

--

Reports say Rasmus Hojlund could be cleared to play for Man United in this weekend's FA Cup quarterfinal clash against Liverpool.

Hojlund has been out of action due to a muscle injury.

--

Saudi club Al-Hilal have set a new world record of 28 consecutive wins after they defeated Al-Ittihad 2-0 in the Asian Champions league quarterfinal.

They beat the previous record set by Welsh club The New Saints 8 years ago.

--

Antione Griezmann is expected to return to action for Atletico Madrid, in tomorrow morning's Champions League last-16 second leg against Inter Milan.

He has been out for four matches due to an ankle injury.

--

And former Liverpool and Everton boss Rafa Benitez has been sacked by La Liga strugglers Celta Vigo, with the club lying 2 points above the relegation zone.
