SPORTS | It's Do Or Die For Real Madrid

May 14, 2025

sports | it's do or die for real madrid

Real Madrid will try to delay Barcelona's La Liga title victory by at least 24 hours, when they host Mallorca tomorrow morning.

Real are 7 points behind Barca with three matches remaining, and they MUST beat Mallorca to keep their slim title hopes alive.

And even if Real win, Barca will be able to clinch the title on Friday morning with a victory over Espanyol.

Meanwhile, Real's Vinicius Junior picked up an ankle problem in last weekend's el Clasico and will miss tomorrow's game.

Rodrygo is in doubt due to illness.

--

Nottingham Forest's Taiwo Awoniyi has been placed into an induced coma, before he undergoes abdominal surgery later today.

The striker suffered a ruptured intestine after he collided with the goalpost in last weekend's match against Leicester.

Reports say his injury is NOT life-threatening, and his induced coma is to restrict his movement and regulate his heart before the complex operation.

--

Liverpool are demanding at least £800,000 in compensation from Real Madrid, before allowing Trent Alexander-Arnold to join the Spanish club before the end of his current contract.

Real are hoping to sign the right back early, so that he can play in the Club World Cup.

--

Manchester United have reportedly cancelled their annual end-of-season dinner and awards ceremony.

This, as United head for their worst-ever league finishes, with the club currently lying just two places above the relegation zone.
