Cape Verde Qualify for the World Cup

The tiny island nation of Cape Verde has created history by qualifying for its very first World Cup.
This, after their 3-0 win over Eswatini saw them finish top of their qualifying group ahead of the more fancied Cameroon.
They now join Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Algeria and Ghana as the latest representatives from Africa.
With a population of just over half a million, Cape Verde is the second-smallest team after Iceland to secure a place in football’s showpiece tournament.

Belgium edged closer to securing their World Cup place with a 4-2 win over Wales
Germany also took another step towards automatic qualification with a 1-0 win over Northern Ireland.
France will have to wait a while longer to secure their place after being held to a 1-1 draw by Iceland.
While Sweden’s World Cup hopes are as good as over, after going down 1-0 to Kosovo.

Meanwhile, Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti says there’s still a chance of Neymar returning to the national team for the World Cup, if he can regain full fitness.
The 33-year-old has not featured for Brazil in two years due to a string of different injuries.

And, Man United have received a massive injury boost with news that Lisandro Martinez is set to return within the next two weeks, having spent nearly eight months on the sidelines with an ACL injury.
