Pearly Tan and M.Thinaah have ended Malaysia’s 10-year wait for a women’s badminton doubles gold medal at the SEA Games.

They defeated their Indonesian opponents in a hard-fought three-sets battle in yesterday’s final.

Meanwhile, our sepaktakraw squad pulled off an impressive win over bitter rivals Thailand to end a 34-year drought in the team regu event.

We also won gold in shooting and Pencak Silat in addition to 8 silver and 21 bronze medals.

It brings our overall tally so far to 20 gold, 23 silver and 70 bronze…leaving us fifth in the medal standings.

Back home, JDT have become the first team to win the FA Cup four times in a row after thrashing Sabah 5-0 in last night’s final.

And in EPL action…Erling Haaland scored twice as Man City defeated Crystal Palace 3-0.

Tottenham suffered a 3-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest.

Aston Villa edged past West Ham 3-2.

Brentford and Leeds played out a 1-1 draw.

While Sunderland pulled off a 1-0 win over local rivals Newcastle.

Over in La Liga…Real Madrid overcame Alaves 2-1, to keep them within four points of leaders Barcelona.

And, Inter Milan have moved top of the Serie A standings after a 2-1 win over Genoa.
