Malaysia Withdraws From CAFA Nations Cup

Jul 16, 2025

malaysia withdraws from cafa nations cup

Harimau Malaya have withdrawn from the CAFA Nations Cup in Tajikistan, which starts late next month.

This was confirmed by team officials, who said it was due to logistical and player availability issues.

The tournament falls just outside of FIFA's window for international matches, which makes it hard to recall players that are based overseas.

Liverpool are looking at several new attacking targets, after being told that Newcastle's Alexander Isak is not for sale.

The alternatives include Eintracht Frankfurt's Hugo Ekiteke, Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins, and Real Madrid's Rodrygo.

Hundreds of Crystal Palace fans have staged a protest over the club's demotion from the Europa League to the Conference League.

Uefa made the decision because Palace's owner also has a stake in French club Lyon, which qualified for the Europa League as well.
