Pep: We Only Have Ourselves To Blame

Jan 18, 2026

pep: we only have ourselves to blame

Man City boss Pep Guardiola is refusing blame match officials for their 2-0 Premier League defeat to Manchester United last night.

He says instead, his team lacked energy and were too predictable.

This, amid suggestions that United's Diogo Dalot should have been sent off for his reckless challenge on Jeremy Doku, instead of only getting a yellow card.

The result means that City are now winless in 4 consecutive Premier League games.

--

Man United caretaker boss Michael Carrick has warned his team not to get carried away after their 2-0 Premier League win over Manchester City.

He says the team must work hard to ensure continued success, after seeing several false starts in past seasons.

--

Elsewhere, Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi is set to undergo a medical before completing his move to Man City.

And after missing out on Guehi, Liverpool will now turn their attention towards Inter Milan defender Alessandro Bastoni.
