We are just eight medals away from hitting our 200-medals target at the SEA Games.

This, after the national contingent delivered a whopping 41 medals yesterday…11 of which were gold.

It brings our overall medal tally so far to 41 gold, 45 silver and 106 bronze…with two days of action remaining.

Among the Malaysians in action today are the men’s football team who’ll be taking on the Philippines in the bronze medal match.

While our men’s and women’s hockey teams will be playing in their respective semifinals.

Holders Newcastle are through to the EFL Cup semifinals, after netting an injury-time winner to beat Fulham 2-1 this morning.

Another match saw Man City overcome Brentford 2-0.

The seminal draw has pitted City against Newcastle…while Chelsea will take on the winners of next-week’s tie between Arsenal and Crystal Palace.

FIFA has announced a 50% increase in prize money for the team’s participating in next year’s World Cup…with participating nations to receive 10.5 million dollars just for turning up.

And, six-time Grand Slam winner Carlos Alcaraz has announced a shock split from his long-time coach Juan Carlos Ferrero…without giving a reason for the separation.
