Senegal Are AFCON Champs!

Senegal have won the Africa Cup of Nations, after a 1-0 extra-time win over hosts Morocco this morning.

The dramatic tie also saw the home side miss a penalty at the end of regulation time, after the Senegalese had walked off the pitch in protest against the spot kick.

This is Senegal’s second AFCON title in five years.

Over in La Liga…Barcelona had three goals disallowed and a penalty bid overturned, as they fell to a surprise 2-1 away defeat to Real Sociedad.

This is Barca’s third loss of the campaign so far, leaving them with a one-point lead over second-placed Real Madrid.

In Premier League action…Aston Villa missed the chance to move up to second after a 1-0 defeat to Everton.

While Wolves held Newcastle to a goalless draw.

Elsewhere, AC Milan edged past Lecce 1-0…to keep themselves within three points of Serie A leaders Inter.

Back home in Malaysia Cup round of 16 first-leg action…JDT had a 10-1 win over PDRM.

Perak pulled off a surprise 2-0 win over KL City.

While Penang edged past Kuching City 1-0.

In other developments…Tottenham are reportedly considering whether to sack manager Thomas Frank after just seven months in charge…with the club currently 14^th in the Premier League standings.

And, European sources say Chelsea are prepared top sell Enzo Fernandez to Real Madrid this summer, IF the Spanish giants table a suitable offer.
