Chelsea Returns to Winning Ways

Jan 21, 2025

chelsea returns to winning ways

Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has hailed his side’s resilience, after they returned to winning ways with a 3-1 EPL victory over Wolves this morning.

It ended a run of five straight league games without a win, and also returned the Blues into the top four.

Maresca also brushed aside suggestions that their poor defense has cost them a shot at the title this campaign, suggesting that they’ve had a good balance between defense and attack.

Liverpool have good news concerning the injured Diogo Jota and Joe Gomez.

Manager Arne Slot says the duo should be out for weeks rather than months, although he declined to give an exact date for their return.

Gomez has been out with a hamstring injury he picked up last month, while Jota has been sidelined since last week’s game against Nottingham Forest.

--

Marcus Rashford has not given up hope of playing for Man United again, despite apparently falling out of favour with new boss Ruben Amorim.

Sources close to the player have stressed that he has no significant issue with Amorim, and is ready to play again if called upon.

Rashford has not played for United since mid-December.

Malaysia’s Abang Yahya Abang Azhar has taken the gold medal in the TPB4 men’s singles event at the IBF Para Bowling World Championships in Hong Kong.

--

And, seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton has had his first official day with the Ferrari team, saying it’s a dream come true to race for the legendary Italian outfit.
