The 2026 Commonwealth Games Fallout Continues

The Youth and Sports Ministry has weighed in on the Glasgow Commonwealth Games’ decision to drop several sports including badminton, diving and squash.  

It says the decision means that we will miss out on 16 potential medals.  

However, there are other sports that we can still excel in, such as weightlifting and lawn bowls.  

The national associations for diving, squash and badminton have expressed disappointment, over Glasgow's decision and told the NST that they will now focus on preparations for other competitions. 

This includes the Asian Games, which also happens in 2026, as well as the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.  

Newly appointed Commonwealth Games host Glasgow dropped these sports as part of a stripped-down programme of only 10 events.

Liverpool will seek a third straight win in the Champions League, when they take on RB Leipzig in Germany tomorrow morning.  

The Merseysiders have already posted wins against AC Milan and Bologna, while Liepzig had back-to-back defeats.  

Diogo Jota remains a doubt for Liverpool, after the attacker suffered an injury in their recent win over Chelsea, and will join Alisson Becker, Havey Elliot and Federico Chiesa on the sidelines.

This, amid continuing doubts about current United boss Erik ten Hag, over their disappointing start to the season.

Authorities have handed a 5-match ban on Nottingham Forest's owner for improper conduct.

He was accused of spitting in the direction of match officials in last month's 1-0 loss to Fulham.
