Arul: My Fate Is Up To Malaysian Hockey Chiefs

Jan 23, 2024

arul: my fate is up to malaysian hockey chiefs

National coach Arul Selvaraj will leave his fate to the hands of the Malaysian Hockey Confederation.

This is after the Speedy Tigers failed to qualify for this year's Olympics in Paris.

Arul also clarified that his contract was initially set to expire at the end of 2023, but it was extended until the end of the qualifiers.

The national team missed out on a place in the Olympics after finishing at the bottom of their qualifying group, with just one point.

Chelsea will look to overturn a 1-0 deficit, when they face minnows Middlesbrough in the 2nd leg of the EFL Cup semifinals tomorrow morning.

However, they'll be without injured players including Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Marc Cucurella and Christopher Nkunku, while Nicolas Jackson is on international duty.

The winner will face either Liverpool or Fulham in the final.

Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh says it's not the end of the world for Harimau Malaya, after they failed to reach the knockout stages of the Asian Cup.

She adds there's a lot more to fight for, including the qualifiers for the next Asian Cup.

And defending Novak Djokovic has reached the semifinals of the Australian tennis open after beating Taylor Fritz in 4 sets.
