Rooney and Vieira make the EPL Hall of Fame
Mar 24, 2022
Former Man United forward Wayne Rooney and ex-Arsenal captain Patrick Vieira have been inducted into the Premier League Hall of Fame.
Rooney is second on the list of all-time EPL goalscorers with 208 goals from his spells with United and Everton.
Vieira, meanwhile, is a three-time EPL winner and was skipper of the Gunner’s ‘Invincibles’ team that won the title without losing a single game.
They are the ninth and tenth players included in the select group…joining David Beckham, Steven Gerrard, Dennis Bergkamp, Frank Lampard, Roy Keane, Eric Cantona, Thierry Henry and Alan Shearer.
Chelsea are now allowed to sell tickets for away league matches, Cup games and fixtures involving its women’s team.
This, after the UK government made changes to the club’s special operating license, although all matchday proceeds will go to either the tournament organizer or the home team.
The Blues had been unable to sell tickets, since owner Roman Abramovich was sanctioned by the government.
The latest move means Chelsea will be able to sell tickets for their home Champions League tie against Real Madrid…and the FA Cup semifinal against Crystal Palace at Wembley.
At least two Premier League clubs are reported to have made contact with Paul Pogba, ahead of a potential summer move.
The Man United midfielder has also attracted plenty of interest in Europe…with Real Madrid, PSG and Juventus keen on his services.
Sources say Pogba has not ruled out extending his United contract, but this will depend on who comes in as the club’s new manager.
MotoGP has extended its contract with the Malaysian Grand Prix until 2024.
Talks are also currently underway to further extend the deal for another two years.
This year’s race will be held in October, after a two-year absence due to the pandemic.
