Estevao Stars As Chelsea Thump Barca

A standout performance from 18-year-old Estevao Willian – including a second half goal – has helped Chelsea to an impressive 3-0 Champions League win over Barcelona this morning.

This was the teenager’s fourth goal in his past four starts for The Blues…adding to his status as one of the hottest young players at the moment.

In other selected results…Man City slumped to a 2-0 home defeat to Bayer Leverkusen…bringing their 23-match unbeaten home run in the group stage to an end.

Elsewhere, Marseille defeated Newcastle 2-1.

While Borussia Dortmund thrashed Villareal 4-0.

FIFA has announced that the top four seeded countries at next year’s World Cup – namely Spain, Argentina, France and England – will be kept away from each other until the semifinals, provided they win their respective groups.

Speaking of the World Cup…Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo has been cleared to play in his country’s opening matches at the tournament, after FIFA suspended the final two games of his three-match ban for elbowing an opponent.

And back home, the national fencing team has been informed that the sport may be restored under the National Sports Council’s program after a 12-year absence, if our athletes perform well at next month’s SEA Games.
