So VAR, So Good

May 29, 2024

so var, so good

The Football Association of Malaysia is satisfied with the implementation of the Video Assistant Referee system, or VAR in the first three rounds of Liga Super matches.

FAM’s refereeing chief says it’s pleased with how match officials have complied with VAR protocols.

It will continue to monitor the referee's performance and take proactive measures, to ensure that VAR continues to be implemented smoothly.

Harimau Malaya will be without another key player for their upcoming World Cup and Asian Cup qualifiers.

This is after Darren Lok was ruled out with a hamstring injury, joining Faisal Halim, Arif Aiman, Romel Morales and Syafiq Ahmad on the sidelines.

Malaysia will face Kyrgyzstan on June 6th, before taking on Chinese Taipei on the 11th.

--

Reports say Arsenal are in advanced talks to tie down boss Mikel Arteta to a new long-term contract.

His current deal expires at the end of next season.

--

Other reports say Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Leicester’s Enzo Maresca as their new head coach.

It’s believed that the Italian was offered a contract until 2029, with the option of a one-year extension.
