The Yang DiPertuan Agong, the Raja Permaisuri Agong, the Prime Minister and Malaysians from all walks of life have taken to social media to congratulate Bonnie Bunyau Gustin, who delivered the country’s first gold medal at the Tokyo Paralympics.

The 22-year-old also broke the Paralympics record by lifting 228 kg’s.

Bonnie is the first Malaysian powerlifter to deliver a gold at the Paralympics, after our previous competitors managed silver and bronze medals in past editions.

Champions Man City have romped to a thumping 5-0 EPL win over Arsenal at the Etihad.

The Gunners also had to play almost an hour of the match with just 10-men, after Granit Xhaka was sent off for a dangerous challenge.

Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah has won the 100m event at the Diamond League meeting in Paris, ahead of Shericka Jackson and Dina Asher-Smith.

However, Thompson-Herah did not manage to break Florence Griffith-Joyner’s long-standing world record…despite earlier being tipped as the favourite to break the mark from 1988.
