UEL: Villa Finishes Group Stage In 2nd Place

Aston Villa are through to the last-16 of the Europa League as group runners-up after their 3-2 win over RB Salzburg this morning.

They join the likes of Lyon, Porto, and Roma to finish in the top eight, and earn an automatic spot in the knockout round.

Meanwhile, Nottingham Forest thrashed Ferencvaros 4-0 to finish 13^th in the group…which was enough to secure a playoff spot for the last-16 alongside clubs like Stuttgart, Celtic, Lille and Fenerbahce.

In ASEAN Club Championship action…JDT defeated Shan United 3-0 to stay second in their group…leaving them in a strong position to qualify for the semis.

Sources say Raheem Sterling is in talks with as many as seven top teams, after recently reaching an agreement with Chelsea to end his Blues contract early.

Separately, Man United reportedly have no interest in signing Chelsea midfielder Cole Palmer, as they can’t afford the Blues rumoured asking price of over 100 million pounds.
