Arteta hints at why he doesn't pick Ozil

Jul 01, 2020

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says he feels no obligation to field Mesut Ozil, just because of his high wages.

He says he chooses his squad solely on merit:

"Everyone that I have in the squad, my job is to get the maximum out of them and try to help them. If they are willing everyone is welcome."

Ozil, who reportedly earns 350 thousand pounds a week, has yet to play for the Gunners since the season restarted.

Meanwhile, Arsenal will take on Norwich in the EPL tomorrow and this one kicks off from 1am on ASTRO SUPERSPORT 3 channels 813, and 833.

Chelsea have played down reports that the Blues are gunning to sign former Man United youngster Angel Gomes.

Recent reports claimed that the club has opened talks with Gomes's reps but Blues boss Frank Lampard says it's the first time he's heard about it.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will go against West Ham in the EPL tomorrow morning, and you can catch it from 3.15am on ASTRO Supersports 3 channels 833, and 813 in HD.
