Athlete named in team for Rio Olympics

The Malaysian Weightlifting Federation has named Mohd Hafifi Mansor in the team for the Rio Olympics in Brazil. 

The 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games gold medalist will be competing in the 69 kg category, and he's been given a target to finish in the top 8. 

Malaysia was given one slot for the Olympics after finishing sixth at the 2016 Asia Weightlifting Championships in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on April 30th.

Hafifi is the 14th Malaysian athlete to be named as a participant for the Rio games.
