CONFIRMED: Thomas, Uber Cups postponed

Sep 15, 2020

It's official, the Thomas and Uber Cups have been postponed for a third time!

The Badminton World Federation says this is after COVID-19 concerns prompted several teams to withdraw from the tournaments, which were due to be held in Denmark next month.

BWF has yet to decide on the replacement dates.

Earlier reports claimed that it could be rescheduled to after next year's Olympics.

Goh V Shem may return to Thomas Cup squad

Goh V Shem will consider whether to rejoin the team for the upcoming Thomas Cup, now that it's been postponed to a later date.

V Shem and his men's doubles partner, Tan Wee Kiong had earlier decided to pull out of the squad, due to family reasons.

V Shem recently celebrated the birth of his daughter, while Wee Kiong is expecting his firstborn mid-next month.

Real 'erases' Gareth Bale

Gareth Bale's future at Real Madrid is in further doubt, after he was reportedly erased from the squad.

He no longer features in any official photos posted by Real, and the Spanish club's shop has removed his shirts from displays.

The Welshman, who's out of favour under boss Zinedine Zidane, has been linked with a move to Manchester United.
