Chelsea hold Ajax to a Champions League draw
Nov 06, 2019
Chelsea produced a stunning fightback, battling from 4-1 down to salvage a 4-all Champions League draw with Ajax this morning.
Blues boss Frank Lampard told beIN Sport his side should have won after Ajax had two players sent off, but it was a special performance at Stamford Bridge nonetheless:
"The madness of the night, the spirit of the team, the spirit of the stadium in the second half was special. Even though I feel a bit frustrated that we didn't win, because the last 15 minutes was there for us, but credit to Ajax. They defended really well."
Elsewhere, holders Liverpool moved top of their group with a 2-1 win over Genk at Anfield.
Georginio Wijnaldum and Alex-Oxlade Chamberlain netted for the Reds.
In other selected results from this morning, Barcelona were held to a goalless draw by Slavia Prague.
Borussia Dortmund came from 2-goals down to beat Inter Milan 3-2.
