Chelsea inflict more misery on Tottenham

Thomas Tuchel has picked up his second win as Chelsea manager, after a 1-0 EPL victory over Tottenham.

The tie was decided by a Jorginho penalty in the 24th minute after Timo Werner was fouled in the box.

The Blues are now unbeaten, and have not conceded a goal in the three league matches since Tuchel took charge.

As for Spurs, this was their third straight Premiership defeat.

New look Champions League?

The Champions League could have a new look, if UEFA has its way.

European football’s governing body is said to be in talks to scrap the current eight-group, round-robin group stage…and replace it with a format where each team plays in a single league table against 10 opponents drawn by seeding.

The continents leading leagues will hold a virtual meeting later today to discuss the proposal.

City want to jump the queue in Haaland pursuit

Man City are reportedly considering paying 100 million pounds for Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.

This is supposedly to give them the upper hand over other interested parties, who are opting to wait until next year when the player’s 68 million pounds release clause becomes active.

Its understood that City have identified Haaland as the perfect replacement for Sergio Aguero.

Aussie Open assurance

The head of the Australian Tennis Open has assured that the Grand Slam will begin as scheduled on Monday, despite the latest Covid-19 scare.

This, after more than 500 people connected to the event were forced to isolate and undergo screening, after a worker at one of the tournament hotels tested positive for the Coronavirus.
