Jose starts Spurs job with a win

Jose Mourinho has won his first game as Tottenham's new manager, watching his side record a 3-2 Premiership win over West Ham in their London derby.

This was also Spurs' first League win away from home since January 20th....and moves them up to ninth in the standings.

Elsewhere, Liverpool needed a late goal to beat Crystal Palace 2-1.

Bobby Firminho netted the winner five minutes from time to maintain the Reds' eight point lead at the top of the table.

Meanwhile, second-placed Leicester City kept up the pressure with a 2-0 win over Brighton.

Man City came from behind to beat Chelsea 2-1.

Arsenal were held to a 2-2 draw by Southampton.

Wolves beat Bournemouth 2-1.

Norwich defeated Everton 2-0.

While Burnley beat Watford 3-0.

Nadal leads Spain into Davis Cup final

Hosts Spain are thru to the Davis Cup final with a dramatic 2-1 win over Great Britain. 

Rafa Nadal and Feliciano Lopez delivered the winning point in the deciding doubles rubber.

Spain will next go on to face Canada...who booked a place in their first ever final after beating Russia.

Athletes of the year

Eliud Kipchoge and Dalilah Muhammad have been named World Athletics' male and female athletes of the year.

Kipchoge recently became the first man to run a marathon in under two hours...while Muhammad won the 400m hurdles gold medal at the World Championships...having twice broken the world record this year.

Second-place finish for Malaysian shuttlers

Goh Soon Huat and Shevon Lai have finished as runners-up at the Korean Badminton Masters, after losing to their opponents from Hong Kong in the mixed-doubles final.
