Liverpool have moved up to second in the Premiership standings with a 3-0 win over Leicester at Anfield this morning.

The Reds took the lead after a Leicester own-goal, before Diogo Jota and Roberto Firminho added on to the tally.

The win means Liverpool are now level on points with leaders Tottenham…while the Foxes are down to fourth.

The Reds have also now gone 64 matches unbeaten at home – which is a new club record.

In other results…Arsenal had Nicolas Pepe sent off for a headbutt as the Gunners were held to a goalless draw away to Leeds.

Everton scored all their goals in the first half as they beat Fulham 3-2.

While West Ham edged past Sheffield United 1-0.

Have City given up on Messi?

Man City may have reportedly ended their pursuit of Barcelona star Lionel Messi.

SkySports, citing a Spanish football insider, says the Premiership side are no longer keen on the 33-year-old player due to his age and his estimated 100 million euros-a-year wages.

City were said to be one of the few clubs in the world who could afford Messi, who is out of a contract at Barca at the end of the season.

Separately, Juventus have rubbished recent reports that Cristiano Ronaldo could be leaving the Serie A champions soon.

It comes amid speculation that Juve could be forced to sell the Portuguese superstar because they can no longer afford to keep him.

Medvedev ends the season on a high

Daniil Medvedev has won the biggest title of his career so far with victory at the season-ending ATP Finals.

He defeated Dominic Thiem in three-sets in this morning’s title decider to ensure that he ends the year as the world number four.

With his win over Thiem, Medvedev is now the only player to have beaten the three-highest ranked players en-route to the title following his earlier victories over Novak Djokovic and Rafa Nadal.
