Liverpool edge closer to the Premiership title

Liverpool are within touching distance of the Premier League title, after thrashing Crystal Palace 4-0 this morning. 

Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mo Salah and Fabinho all got on the scoresheet, before Sadio Mane wrapped up the win with a fourth at Anfield.

The result means the Reds could be crowned champions in the next 24 hours.

Second-placed Man City must beat Chelsea tomorrow morning, if they are to delay Liverpool's coronation.

In other results this morning, Anthony Martial netted a hat-trick as Man United beat Sheffield United 3-0 at Old Trafford.

This was also United's first Premier League hattrick in more than seven years.

Elsewhere, Newcastle and Aston Villa drew 1-1
Everton edged past Norwich 1-0
While Wolves beat Bournemouth also by a goal to nil.

Over in Spain..

Real Madrid returned to the top of La Liga after a comfortable 2-0 win over Mallorca.
