Mourinho plays down Liverpool injury crisis

Dec 16, 2020

Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has played down claims that Liverpool are in the middle of an injury crisis.

Speaking ahead of tomorrow morning's top-of-the-table EPL clash, Mourinho says Virgil van Dijk is the Reds' only long-term absentee.

“Alisson is not injured. Alexander-Arnold is not injured. Matip, I believe he is going to play. Salah is not injured. Firmino is not injured. Mané is not injured. Give me Liverpool’s list of injuries and compare that list of injuries with what is the best Liverpool team”

Mourinho refuses to sanction Winks transfer

Mourinho also says he will NOT allow Harry Winks to leave in next month's transfer window.

Winks is reportedly unsettled at Spurs, as the midfielder has rarely featured for them this season.

However, Mourinho assured that Winks will be given plenty of opportunities to play over the next few months, amid a frantic run of matches.

He admits he hasn't given Isco many chances to shine on the pitch, but adds it's up to the midfielder to prove himself in training.

Isco was previously linked with Everton and Arsenal.
