Olivier Giroud and Willy Caballero extend Chelsea stay

May 21, 2020

Chelsea veterans Olivier Giroud and Willy Caballero have both signed contract extensions, which will keep them at Stamford Bridge next season.

Giroud’s existing deal had been due to expire at the end of the season, but the Frenchman put in a series of impressive performances before the campaign was halted by the coronavirus pandemic.

38-year-old Caballero was also set to be out of contract on June 30th, but the Argentine proved his worth while first-choice keeper Kepa Arrizabalaga was benched.

Meanwhile, the futures of several other senior Chelsea players like Willian and Pedro remain uncertain.

The 27-year-old made things worse by posting a photo on Instagram to share his new look WITH his barber.

Aurier had already been in trouble twice during lockdown, after going out for a run with a friend, and training too close to Tottenham teammate Moussa Sissoko.
