Son Heung-min completes military service with outstanding stats

May 08, 2020

Tottenham’s Son Heung-min has officially completed his three-week basic military training in his native South Korea.

Not only did the 27-year-old finish among the top five out of 157 people in his class, but he also finished with a perfect record in shooting and a mental strength assessment.

Son must still complete some community service by 2023 to fulfill his military duties, but for now, he’s expected back in London later this month, as the Premier League hopes to resume by mid-June.

La Liga sets return date

Leganes coach Javier Aguirre has revealed that La Liga will resume on June 20th.

With 11 games left to play, it’s going to be a tight schedule, as the season will have to be completed within five weeks.

Clubs have already rolled out plans to resume training as early as this weekend.

La Liga will be the second European top flight to confirm a return date, after Germany’s Bundesliga announced it will resume on May 16th.

BAM hoping to resume national squad training next month

The BAM has announced that our national shuttlers could return to training next month, after seeking approval to do so.

The association will prioritise players on the road to the Tokyo Olympics next year.

The news comes following the government’s directive of allowing non-contact sports such as badminton and cycling to resume.

As it stands, mixed doubles pair Chan Peng Soon and Goh Liu Ying, as well as the men’s doubles pairs of Goh V Shem-Tan Wee Kiong and Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi are the frontrunners to make the cut for Tokyo.
