Villarreal boss claims refereeing in Liverpool defeat was 'not equal'

May 06, 2016

Villarreal boss Marcelino claims the refereeing was "not equal", after his side were eliminated from the Europa League, following a 3-nil defeat at Liverpool this morning.

Marcelino claims the referee favoured the home side, who went through 3-1 on aggregate, after Villareal's Victor Ruiz was sent off for a second booking with they were 2 goals down.

However, he conceded that Liverpool were the better side throughout.
